Working principle of radiator
The working principle of different types of heat sinks varies, but the core is to achieve heat dissipation by increasing the heat dissipation area and improving the heat exchange efficiency between the heat dissipation medium and the heating components.
Air cooled radiator: The heat generated by the heating components is transferred to the radiator base, which then conducts the heat to the heat dissipation fins. The fan blows air, causing it to flow between the heat dissipation fins. The air exchanges heat with the fins, taking away the heat.
Water cooled radiator: The water pump drives the coolant to circulate in the water-cooled head of the heating component. After absorbing the heat of the heating component, the coolant flows through the radiator (cold exhaust). The fan on the radiator allows air to pass through the heat dissipation fins, dissipating the heat in the coolant into the air. The cooled coolant returns to the water-cooled head and circulates in this way.
Heat pipe radiator: One end of the heat pipe (evaporation end) comes into contact with the heating component, absorbs heat, and the working fluid inside the heat pipe quickly vaporizes. The steam flows towards the other end of the heat pipe (condensation end) under a small pressure difference. At the condensation end, steam releases heat and condenses into liquid, which flows back to the evaporation end under capillary action or gravity and continues to participate in heat transfer.
Natural convection radiator: The heating component transfers heat to the radiator, causing the surface temperature of the radiator to rise. The surrounding air expands and rises due to heating, and cold air is replenished from the bottom of the radiator, forming natural convection and dissipating heat.
